K-State’s B.J. Finney is one of 300 college players invited to the 2015 NFL Combine.

Recently, B.J. Finney, a four-year starting center and a three-year captain on the Kansas State football team, was one of 300 college players invited to the NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 17-23, 2015.

The Combine is a six-day event where NFL coaches, general managers and scouts evaluate the size, speed and strength of a potential player with different agility tests including the bench press, vertical jump, long jump and 40-yard dash.

K-State Sports Extra writer Kelly McHugh and I approached B.J. about following him through the Combine and documenting his journey to the NFL. He agreed to it but the NFL communications office did not and they denied our request for credentials. So, Kelly and I changed our story to focus more on B.J. training for the Combine.
