Recently, I shot the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship at Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on March 7-10, 2014, the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri on March 12-15, 2014 and the 2nd round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship at Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri from March 19-22, 2014.

That’s 19 games in sixteen days. I challenged myself to be more creative in the final stretch of the season so I started shooting with longer lenses to feature the faces of the players, coaches and fans. I felt the emotion made more interesting images than shooting another breakaway dunk.

Baylor defeated West Virginia 74-71 to win the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship, Iowa State defeated Baylor 74-65 to win the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship and Kentucky defeated K-State 56-49 in the 2nd round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.
