Treanor Architects asked me to shoot the Kansas State Capitol Dedication in Topeka, Kansas on January 29, 2014. Kansas celebrated its 153rd birthday with a newly restored Statehouse.

Treanor Architects’ Vance Kelley, Joy Coleman, Todd Renyer, and Julia Manglitz directed the project which included the restoration of all five floors, rehabilitation and expansion of the basement, complete exterior masonry restoration, replacement of the copper roof and copper dome, an underground 550-car parking garage, a visitors’ center, a dining area, and landscaping.

The historical preservation and restoration took 13 years to complete and cost $332 million.
