lightning crashes

Recently, I was driving through the Flint Hills in central Kansas. A thunderstorm south of I-70 was producing brilliant flash lightning. I pulled over at a rest area to shoot some photos of the storm. Suddenly, a lightning bolt split the sky from the clouds to the ground a few miles away.
